The Power Of The Gospel

Acts 9:1-19
Saul was the first terrorist there ever lived, he was against the church, yet one encounter with the power of God and his life was changed!!

1—-The power of the gospel is the power that changes your life, no matter who are are, where your coming from, the power in the Gospel is able to change your life!! Saul went from being a terrorist to being one of the most effective leaders and apostles of the new testament!!

I went from selling cigarettes in high school, bullying. I was a regular detention student! Yet one day in 2002, Gods power, Gods light, the Gospel of Jesus hit me and since then my life has never been the same!! I went from selling tobaccco to preaching the word of God! That is the power of the Gospel! It’s the power to change a persons life!!

2—The Problem
Judges 6:11 ‘The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites.When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.”"But sir,” Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian.”

the Lord had appeared to Gideon through an angel to speak concerning the greatness of his future, but Gideon was still bringing up the past!
And too many a times we miss the power of God, or we miss what God is trying to speak to us because we are so focused on the past and negatives!

Get this-God is not concerned about your past, he’s concerned about your future!! Jeremiah 29:11 -For i know the plans I have for you, plans of good and not evil to give you a FUTURE and a hope!!

we are our only obstacle in life! The way we miss out on the power of God changing our lives, is because we are still stuck and held back by the sins of the past, the mistakes of your youth, some of you disqualify yourselves because you failed in the past! Let me tell you this, the fact that you made a mistake in the past doesn’t make you a mistake! And failure is an event not a person. So it’s time to rise up, wipe the guilt and past memories and walk into your future!!

When God called me, and he spoke to me, I wasn’t the best kid around, nor was I the good kid, I was very much the opposite, I had a rough upbringing, not the brightest kid in school, not the nicest person around, yet for some reason God chose to use me!! Irrespective of my past and what I had done, God still chose me!!

And I’m here to tell you, no matter what you’ve done, your still chosen by God, you are his sons and daughters!!

The bible says that He chooses the foolish things to shame the wise, the weak things to shame the things which are strong-1 Corinthians 1:27

Today I’m speaking to someone, your past cannot stop what God has planned for you!! Your destiny is greater than your past!

Today is a new day and God is doing a new thing!! His word is changing your life!! He is giving you purpose and a vision! He is giving you power and dominion! He is giving you boldness and faith!! Courage and knowledge!!

Also: The power of the gospel is the power of the name of Jesus! -Colossians 1:15- there is power in the name of Jesus! He makes the impossible possible, He makes a way where there seems to be no way, his name itself is powerful! It can heal the sick, cleanse the sinner!

”I’m Better Not Bitter”

Genesis 50:15-21
Realizing that their father was dead, Joseph’s brothers said, “What if Joseph still bears a
grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong that we did to him?”
So they approached Joseph, saying, “Your father gave this instruction before he died, ‘Say to Joseph:
I beg you, forgive the crime of your brothers and the wrong they did in harming you.’ Now
therefore please forgive the crime of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when
they spoke to him.Then his brothers also wept, fell down before him, and said, “We are here
as your slaves.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God? Even
though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous
people, as he is doing today. So have no fear; I myself will provide for you and your little
ones.” In this way he reassured them, speaking kindly to them.’

In life, people will hurt you (Especially those close to you), offend you, criticize you and do other things to try and bring you down to discourage you from your dream. While we can’t choose how people treat us, we can choose how we react to the way they treat us, this is where the power lies: in your reaction.

When people hurt and offend you, it can either leave you feeling BITTER or BETTER. I’ve come to a realisation that life is too short to go through living bitter. The best way to live life is free from the baggage of bitterness and pain of the past.

Forgiveness is the key to becoming BETTER! Forgiveness means, what someone did to hurt you has no power over you to rob you of your happiness and joy. It means YOU have the power to release them and be released yourself.

Joseph had every reason to be mad at his brothers for the past pain and trouble they had caused him, landing him even in prison, yet Joseph forgave them.

There’s no need to go through life angry at people, because for every minute of anger thats 60 seconds of happiness you lose out on.

PRAYER:
Lord i thank you for forgiving me of all my sins and so i also today forgive everyone that has hurt me or caused me pain. I pray that you will heal my pain, renew and refresh me and teach me not to depend on people but only you Jesus, for only you can satisfy. In Jesus name, Amen!

Now go out there and live the victorious life you were called to!

Recently….

It’s been a while since my last blog post, I have been in Africa for 5 weeks and got back recently,i’m slowly adjusting to the new season God has me in. It’s been an eventful and exciting journey these last few weeks and a lot of changes have taken place which over the next few months you will all find out about. Here’s a summary though of what i’ve been up to and whats next for me/E.K.A Inspirations/PVBS and my love life….yep: i know have a love life :) lol

Firstly about my African trip.

It was definitely one of the biggest steps of faith I have ever taken and I’m so glad I did because I experienced a new supernatural move of God in my personal walk with Him and in my ministry as well. Faith attracts the supernatural favor and power of God.

I spent 4 weeks in Ghana preaching, spending time with family and PVBS related business opportunities. No matter the day, where I was or what I was doing, one thing was evident, and that was Gods favor and the sense of destiny upon my life. My spirit within was telling me ‘you were born for this!’ seeing peoples faces light up and hearing of the testimonies of people being empowered through the message God sent me with is what inspires me to keep going!! For as long as i’m breathing, i believe i’m here on this earth to inspire and empower people to live their dreams to make the world a better place, advance the kingdom of God and leave a legacy!

The feedback from the pastors in Africa, were very positive and God willing I will be speaking again in Africa before the end of this 2011. A very BIG thank to all those who prayed and supported me on the journey, what God did through me was made possible by your generous heart to support me, Help me!!

Secondly my iPhone/iPad app ‘Mini Mo Quo’ (Mini Motivational Quotes) will be submitted to Apple today 13/03/11. God willing it should be available within this month, March. I am very excited at yet another outlet and medium by which I can inspire people. Mini Mo Quo is something that is close to my heart, because I am a living testimony of the content of this app. Grab it when it comes out and I believe your life will never be the same. I will update you all when it is officially released!

Also my 2nd book ‘Let it Go’ will be out in a few months, it’s in the editing stage. The book has a dynamic healing and prophetic touch to it. I believe anyone with a past, family issues, relationships, disapointments, rejections will REALLY benefit from this book. It is something God has laid on my heart and i can wait to get it to you all! The foundation scripture for the new book is Philippians 3:13- ‘One thing I do, forgetting what is behind and press forward towards the prize that is ahead’. Keep your ears open for the release date!

I’m still speaking every fortnight around Melbourne in churches, youth groups and high schools, empowering the next generation of leaders to rise up! If you would like to have me speak at your event or church, please contact me on eric@pvbs.com.au for bookings.

Also many of you would know that a brother has been hitched! Yep! True story :) . As part of my transition and the new season God has me in, I have also been blessed with an amazing and beautiful lady.

PVBS-Online magazine/blog Recruit!

Hey guys PVBS (Proverbs) is diversifying. In 2011 there will be many new plans and exciting ventures to do with community involvement, charity work, the launch of our kids clothing collection e.t.c
The announcement we wanna share with you all today though is that in March this year we (PVBS) will be launching an online magazine/blog!!

The idea of it is to create a positive inspiring culture, not only that but it will also be a great place for exposure for upcoming dreamer chasers e.g musicians/bands/designers/ pretty much whatever talent you have that you wanna share with the rest of the world.
Also a great source of inspiration. There will be motivational interviews, stories e.t.c
I could go on and on about the content of the magazine such as a comic section, movie reviews et.c but I wont :)

So here’s where you come in. This is a movement and history in the making. We’re wanting to work with creative people who wanna have fun while making a difference at the same time!
So we’re looking for editors and writers people who have a passion in their area of creative ability.
We’re also looking for people who would like to be featured in the magazine. If you think you have something cool you would like us to help you share with the rest of the world.
Over the next few weeks we will be creating an editorial team and will get the ball rolling.

Lessons From 2010 #2 ‘If You Can Think It, You Can Do It!

The Power of positive thinking
Proverbs 23:7 ‘As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.’
This year God told me before I could win anything in the natural I would first have to win it in my mind. The mind is the battlefield of every human. And if your able to master your mind, you can master anything in life.
Henry Ford said ‘If you think you can, you can, and if you think you can’t, your right too.’
From the start of 2010, I had a mindset renewal through Romans 12:2 ‘’Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.’
I thought like a winner, a conqueror, a success and I realised that not long after that, my actions began to align to my words. Thoughts become actions, actions form habits, habits become character, character determines your destiny.
Where do you want to see yourself by the end of 2011??, begin to imagine it, think it, and then your actions will allign to your thoughst! In if you can change your mind for the better, you can change your life for the better!

Life Changing Lessons From 2010 #1 Know God

1) KNOW GOD: The greatest knowledge in the world you can ever access and obey to be a success and fulfilled in life is the KNOWLEDGE of GOD! It doesn’t matter what you know in life, if you know God, you always have an advantage in EVERYTHING in life.
Daniel 11:32 ‘’The people that do KNOW their God shall be strong, and do exploits.’’
People whom you see doing exploits and making an impact in the kingdom are people who know God. Your impact in the kingdom of God is limited to your knowledge of God, His word, His power, His unconditional love.
You can only do more when you know more (God)

2) KNOW YOURSELF: I learnt this year that it doesn’t matter who you know, if you don’t know yourself, it’s useless. I learnt that once a person knows God, they will know themselves, because true identity is in Christ Jesus alone. This year, Knowing myself (it’s a lifelong process and I’m still going through it) made me realise my calling. It made me realise who I was and therefore gave me the self confidence to pursue my dreams. The biggest bonus of knowing yourself and what your called to do and what your not called to do, is that you don’t live your live to please anyone but God.
This year I’ve received such criticism from people trying to kill my dreams through words and actions like you would not believe. What has made me stand firm and tall and still going is because I know me, I know what I was born to do, therefore that’s all that matters! What others think of me is none of my business, because i know who i am!

3) KNOW YOUR DREAM: I have said many times this year to motivate people that ‘you can still succeed if no one believes in you, but you cannot succeed if you don’t BELIEVE in yourself. success begins with self belief. You have to believe in your dreams even when no one does. You have to be bold and confident of the gift and talent God has given you to make a difference. I believed 101% in PVBS and my book. I believed in it so much that I have no doubt of our brand becoming of the biggest brands to come from Australia!

SUMMARY- In 2011, Know God like you’ve never known him before, when you do He will tell and show you things about you and your future, which will lead to you discovering who are and what your purpose is. You will have the power to not conform to what others say but to obey what God is saying to you. When you do, according to the Daniel scripture, ‘You SHALL do exploits’!
May 2011 be a year of exploits for you as you know God, know yourself and know your dream!

Book Review-’Let’s Go!’ by Neil Bull

Generation Y have been labelled many things ranging from ‘tech kids’ to ‘neoliberalized’ to ‘Generation nothing’. Whatever your views or experience, there are always those who are willing to stand above the pack. Eric Agyeman is one of those few.

Let’s Go! is a call from Gen Y to Gen Y to step up and make a difference. Beyond just a motivational book, there is a clear connection between motivation, dreams and faith. There is a however balance to the ‘go for it’ mentality with the reality of life, addressing the risks and likely hurdles.

Reading the book is a whirlwind which is probably a fair reflection of its author. While the content does at times reflect a simplistic view, one cannot help but feel the urgency and passion that oozes from its pages. This style then reflects an appropriate voice for the target audience.

Let’s Go! is littered with quotable quotes which come from everyone from global US leader to Walt Disney to local poets and of course plenty of the bible. A common type of quote would be “Success is one thing you cannot pay for, You buy it on instalment plan and make payments every day” Zig Giglar. Some of the best quotes however come from the author himself, “if you don’t move, you don’t get anywhere; and you certainly cannot get to the top by sitting on your bottom”.

One of the great surprises of Let’s Go! is the final twist of the book where, in the last 2 pages, the author speaks a prophet word to “awaken the destiny within” over the life of the reader. You can’t help but feel a great sense of God’s voice over your life.

As you would expect with Gen Y, the book and its message is supported with all the modern multi-media including online, mobile phone apps, public appearances and radio interviews.

If you are a young person who is trying to find their way, or you know a young person in that boat, then this book is for you.

Never, Never, Never..Give Up!

After Thomas Edison made 1000 failed attempts at making the light bulb, a reporter asked him ‘How did it feel to fail 1000 times?’

Edison replied ‘I didnt fail 1000 times,the light bulb was an invention with a 1000 steps’.
Edisons achievement was bcos he didnt give up,even after 1000 failed attempts.failure is not failing, failure is when you give up. Galatians 6:9′If you DO NOT GIVE UP you shall recieve ur reward!’

Remember quitters never win and winners never quit! Too many people give up just one step away from their destiny moment. Never give up on your dreams, your faith, Never give up on yourself!
